Back when I was giving away free Joost invites, there certainly was a lot of buzz about this application. However, it seems to have quieted down and last night I had a chance to see what has updated with Joost.

There are a lot of new programs and channels since the last time I used it. It’s nice to see some of the 2007 NHL playoff games available as well. However, one major part of Joost has changed for me, and that is its performance.

Creative License Tour

Adobe stopped by Calgary to show off their new Creative Suite of products, partly thanks to Apple who sponsored them to come here. From 9 AM - 4 PM, the presenters from Adobe showed us tips and tricks with the different applications which just blew me away and frequently had my jaw hit to floor.

There were quite a few things I noted from the presentation which I plan to share. Tips and tricks with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign — even Bridge is more useful this time around! Look for a post each week on a tip I learnt from today.

New Portfolio

It’s taken a very long time, but I’ve finally finished my portfolio. My old portfolio, Senmu Studios, has gotten really outdated and the recent work I did never made it on there.

I’ve retired that “pen name” of Senmu Studios due to its nature of giving the false notion that I was more than one person. I am now designing under my real name.

Members of the Apple Students Group on Facebook are currently getting a free music sampler from Sub Pop Records. To get your free sampler, you first must be a registered user of Facebook and have access to the US iTunes music store. I’m not sure how this slipped past my radar, it was even released in November of 2006. The Making of "300" is a video podcast produced by Warner Bros. on exactly what the title says, the making of the movie "300".
