Through blog postings and forum threads, I found a way to achieve a feasible iPhone unlock solution running 2.0.2 with the new app store functionality while still being able to install unofficial apps through Cydia, and also was able to make phone calls on the Rogers network.
Note: only works with 1st gen iPhones
Today, ReportonBusiness.com has posted a Globe and Mail update mentioning that Rogers has finally announced that it has reached a deal with Apple to finally bring the iPhone to Canada sometime this year.
The other day I ran into an old friend who activates cellphones as part of their job. As the conversation went on, I expressed my plans to import an iPhone if it did not see daylight in Canada. However, they informed me that they received notice that the iPhone could be coming to Canada as soon as January of next year. This was exciting news, but we’ve seen rumors circulate about this before. Regardless, I’m going to put some faith in this source of mine because it’s starting to sound like the possibility of the iPhone being available for use in Canada isn’t so farfetched.

Last year I started a little comic strip with some of my Apple hardware. It didn’t get a lot of exposure and it got lost during the upgrade from my previous blog, so here it is again.
(Synopsis:
iPod Shuffle is reading the fliers one day when he comes across an interesting product. He shares his findings with his buddy, iBook.)
