New Version of Google Analytics
Today I received an email from Google saying that they updated their interface for Google Analytics. Now for those who don’t know, Google Analytics is a statistics tracking web app meant to track visits, trends, etc. on any website you enable it on. I used to have my statistics for my blog tracked by Google Analytics, however once I checked out Mint, I decided to use that instead.
However, I still use Google Analytics for Our Take, another blog which is mainly used to share funny video clips my friends and I find on the web. I logged into Google Analytics after receiving the email and am really quite impressed by the updated interface.
Now, before this update, it was quite hard for me to easily comprehend the information being presented to me once I logged in. The new version sports charts which are easy to read and interpret, likely because you can view them at a bigger size from the get go. On the start page which is now customizable, you now have the ability to place useful information on the dashboard which used to be hidden (what I really mean are pages which took a while to get to).
Also new is the ability to email and export reports, a definite plus for websites run by a group, or one who wants convenience when presenting the popularity of their website to a possible sponsor.
This update is greatly welcomed and is a free stats tracking solution I would be glad to recommend, but I’m still going to stick with Mint for its flexibility and great development community.
