I am glad to finally unveil the new theme for goSammy which I’ve personally referred to as Sol-Inspire. I estimate that it took me close to an entire week to work on this theme. Nearly 4 days on creating 3 drafts of photoshop mockups and 2 days of actually coding the theme for wordpress.

There are some elements which I have outsourced for this theme however, and credit must be due for that. I’d like to thank William Mayo for the Speech Bubble styling which I’ve used for styling the comments. Inspiration for this theme also comes from the works of Derek Punsalan, and Brian Benzinger.

This is my first wordpress theme though which I did from scratch which I’m quite proud of. All my other wordpress themes were just heavy modifications of other themes. I’d love to hear what you guys think of it and feel free to comment on any suggestions.

  • Good job on working on something from the ground up. Tedious process isn’t it? Having to go through Photoshop revision after revision before making a dent with the actual code? Things get easier from here as far as future personal projects. Pretty soon you’ll fly through revisions. I’m honored that something of mine was inspiring.

@Derek: The process it took to get to the final result was tedious, but well worth the learning experience. It’s so encouraging to receive words from one of the very people this personal project was inspired from. Thanks for the comment.
