Having Fun While Ordering an iPod
My sister Kim owned a 2GB black iPod nano (1st gen) and wanted to upgrade it to something with a little more capacity that also didn’t scratch so easily. Since Apple released the 2nd generation of iPod nanos, she had her eye on the 8GB black nano. Once she sold off her 1st gen nano, I helped her purchase a brand new nano.
It was my first time purchasing a brand new iPod from Apple’s online store and we decided to have a little fun with some of the free options while ordering, just because we could. Apple was offering free gift wrapping in the spirit of Valentine’s Day and it was hard to say no, especially when you can write a silly little message such as this:
Besides that special offer for free gift wrapping, we also decided to have a little fun with the free laser engraving. My sister’s favorite color is black, but the black 8GB nano was just a little too pricey for her. She settled on the red 4GB nano because it would be original since there are no Apple stores in Calgary yet. Inspired by the Rejected iPod Engravings post at UNEASYsilence, I suggested something comical to engrave on the back of a red nano. It was amusing that we were able to put one past Apple’s filters:
Besides the fun we had while ordering this, the new (PRODUCT) Red iPod nano is really something else. It’s amazing how a different color on it can make it look even better than my green one, plus my sister feels a little bit warmer inside now that she helped contribute a little to help fight AIDS in Africa.
