Web Directions North
I’ve never gone to a tech conference before and ever since I’ve seen keynotes on the web and coverage on events such as Apple
Then I read a post on Veerle’s blog about being invited to Web Directions North as a speaker. I’m a fan of Veerle’s work to say the least, but the guest list was pretty impressive. To top it all off, the event was going to be held in Vancouver, BC. It’s rare that a conference with such an impressive guest list is held in Canada. There’s also going to some very interesting workshops and a little ski/snowboarding trip at the end too!
Soon I learnt of the affiliate program Web Directions North is offering. The way the program works is that if I refer at least 4 people to sign up for this event through my site, I get a free ticket to this conference. Being a college student, I’m lacking the funds to buy a ticket to this conference and I probably have lectures to attend during those days this event is held. However, if I somehow am able to score a free ticket, it would be a good enough excuse to attend this.
It’s unlikely I’m going to refer even one person, but I figured I’d just give it a try since it wouldn’t hurt.

On another note, I will be having my final exams next week which means less updates. Wish me luck!
