Today I received yet another new gadget in the mail, a brand spankin’ new 20″ Dell UltraSharp 2007WFP LCD Monitor. Some colleagues of mine were advising me to try and purchase another brand/type of monitor but I did my homework on this one. It was also really hard to resist purchasing it when it was part of Dell’s Deal Days and was on sale for $200 than the original price.
One coworker of mine told me of a similar LG monitor that seemed to have specs that blew the Dell out of the water, but when I found out the Dell was actually using LG internals (the same ones in the Apple Cinema Displays), I went for the Dell. There were also S-Video and Composite inputs which were a bonus.
I read a lot of complaints on the web about this display…I haven’t used a lot of LCD displays but let me tell you that this thing is amazing at displaying photographs. I was able to see artifacts in some photos that I’ve never seen before, I’m impressed with it so far. Look at how much brighter it is compared to the display on my iBook!
The only sad part now is that I have to fish out $400 for my next credit card statement
